Proseguivamo per Via Torino 156 (quasi in fondo alla via) ed abbiamo trovato aperta Radio Base Popolare Network .... abbiamo incontrato la gentile Direttrice storica dell'emittente alternativa di sinistra: Liliana Boranga, ed il principale collaboratore Claudio Giust... WEB: //www.radiobase.net/radiobase , le frequenze : 93,55 MHz + 99,15 MHz + 107,40 MHz visitati gli studi e fatte alcune foto .... abbiamo discusso dei problemi delle frequenze in zona tre venezie ....davvero una continua rissa tra Radio slovene e quelle italiane ......su 91,70 MHz Radio Gorizia 1 e Radio Capris; su 93,35 MHz Radio Sherwood e Radio Val 202 solo per fare 2 esempi. Claudio ci dava una anteprima: ci sono dei progetti per trasmettere in onda media, ma per il momento è solo un progetto....
Se volete inviare rapporti di ascolto a Radio Base di Mestre utilizzate la email claudio@radiobase.net Venivamo omaggiati di alcuni adesivi di nuovo tipo multicolori con i colori della bandiera della pace ..........abbiamo salutato l'amico Claudio Giust ci siamo spostati alla stazione dove abbiamo salutato Paolino Castagna ed abbiamo preso al volo il BUS 2 che fa Mestre-Venezia in 20 MINUTI .....ottimo servizio ...costo 2 euro andata-ritorno, il capolinea a Venezia in Piazza Roma ......poi da li a piedi abbiamo raggiunto CANNAREGIO 275 dove ha sede la RAI REGIONALE di Venezia........ ovvio tutto chiuso al pubblico al sabato pomeriggio ... ma almeno il palazzo lo abbiamo fotografato.
Nella stessa piazzetta difronte al Palazzo Labia abbiamo fatto uno stop tecnico per fare un Bandscan in FM sedendoci su una panchina e provare le emittenti in FM da Venezia .....unico segnale ESTERO che ha perforato il Brusio (RF) dei ripetitori FM locali (posti sul palazzo della Stazione di S.Lucia) i 105,70 MHz Slovenia 3 da Monte Nanos con opere liriche Italiane..
Giornata di bel sole.... caldo... con umidità in laguna .......ma troppo presto per fare TROPO .....

La posizione del nostro punto di ascolto era verso NORD-NORD EST questo spiega alcuni segnali captati dal Friuli. Il Bandscan veniva completato in 2 ore... mentre turisti da tutte le parti del mondo ci assediavano per sedersi sulle 3 panchine nella piazzetta sotto ad un sole a dir poco "estivo"......
Venezia ha un suo fascino ..... per mancanza di tempo non facevamo un bandscan dalla zona di Piazza San Marco (che si raggiunge facilmente con il vaporetto dalla piazza della Stazione di S. Lucia) i prezzi di qualsiasi cosa sono almeno il triplo se confrontati con i prezzi di Mestre...una cartolina postale costa 0,80 Euro.
A Venezia è rimasta una sola emittente Radio Vanessa localizzata in Castello 1923, lontana dalla zona di Palazzo Labia....ascoltata con un programma culinario dedicato ai GAMBERETTI.....
Alle 1830 il sole spariva dietro un fatiscente palazzo in piazzetta della Chiesa di Santa Lucia difronte al Palazzo Labia .... a dire il vero molti edifici a Venezia sono in condizioni pietose.... e noi tornavamo in Piazza Roma dove arrivano tutti gli autobus .... il BUS 2 parte ogni 10 minuti... alle 1930 eravamo in Hotel Roberta. Io facevo un po di INTERNET in un Phonecall Cinese posto sempre in Via Serraglia a 30 metri dall'Hotel (costo 3 Euro per una ora).
Alle 2045 arrivava Paolino Castagna che ci portava alla trattoria da CIANO in Via Ancona 16 ...localizzata nella zona industriale vicino a Via Torino... prendevo un menu fisso a base di pesce ..... moltissime portate.... davvero una abbuffata di tutti i tipi di pesce...innaffiati da un vino bianco frizzantino... molti gli argomenti trattati con Paolino.. radio locali che continuano a sparire ...comprate dai grossi networks "HAWKS" .... interferenze dai vari ripetitori che sovente coprono la stessa zona (un esempio lo avete leggendo il bandscan fatto a Venezia)...
parlavamo anche di Radio Pirate Venete ....per ora tutto tace da questo settore .....

Alle 2330 tornavamo in Albergo e salutavamo Paolino Casagna....che ringraziavamo per la preziosa assistenza.
Facevo un po di Bandscan in FM ma la posizione della camera al 2 piano in mezzo a vari palazzi altri 3-4 piani non era favorevole.

Domani 2 parte del viaggio : da Mestre a Lubiana .... in treno.

RADIO TRAVEL TO SLOVENIA - CROAZIA by DARIO MONFERINI & ROBERTO PAVANELLO:

1st PART MILANO-MESTRE-VENEZIA

Our travel started saturday 22 April from Milano, with IC Train at 0905 hours, lot of people going to Venezia and also to Gardaland Park in Garda lake, but the train started and arrived in time. During the travel we listened with our receivers 2 DEGEN 1103 model with 2 FM filters 53 + 110 kHz which are making better the FM listeings. It is a pity the DEGEN 1103 has no RDS reading so this makes a bit more difficult to identify the station you are listening to... but with FREQUENZE RADIO lists by town you have a good reference.
We controlled in Desenzano del Garda if is still active on 1620 kHz the station called Radio Giovanni Paolo II , but no signals, even on FM band 94,90 MHz ... also no traces of sister station HAPPY RADIO on 94,70 MHz and 91,50 MHz... in Verona on 1584 kHz we heard Radio Verona in // 103,00 MHz.... but on medium wave a poor signal just in the town area.....
At 1205 we were in Mestre .... and we arrived by foot in few minutes to the Hotel Roberta located in Via Sernaglia 21. E-mail: info@hotelroberta.com Price room with 2 beds one night is 100 Euro...... with morning breakfast.
At 1400 our local friend Paolino Castagna arrived to start a visit to the Mestre local radio stations, our first visit to Radio Venezia 101 located in Via Piraghetto 86 did not get positive results cause we only found the station operator, so no possible to see the studios.
The other station GV RADIO in blu located in the Church headquaters of Mestre, yet replied by email no visit are permitted the saturday afternoon. So we went always by car to Radio Base Popolare Network located in VIA TORINO 156 in the industrial-commercial area, we met the kind general manager Mrs. Liliana Boranga and Program Director Claudio Giust. The station is in the left mouvement of Radio stations connected to Popolare Network based in Milano. Their WEB: //www.radiobase.net/radiobase So we visited the modern computrized studios and we do some photos with new digital camera of Pavanello.
We also got some new nice stickers and a CD featuring some programs of the radio. Radio Base is a cultural leftideologic station and they have lot of programs in differents languages and cooperation with AMARC organisation.
If you want to send reports by email : claudio@radiobase.net Claudio Giust is in charge to reply to correct reports. He also said the radio is planning to start to operate a medium wave frequency .... but not yet planned to buy a transmitter.
With Claudio we had talks about the radio stations in the area, and problems of interferences and always less number of local radio stations.
So after this good visit we went with our friend Paolino Castagna to the Central Rail station in Mestre, were we say: "see you later" to Paolino and we took the BUS 2 which is making the service Mestre-Venezia in 20 minutes for just 1 Euro price... and with final stop in Piazza Roma in Venezia were are located all the bus lines (also the internationals).
We do a little walk of 300 meters to go to see the Palazzo Labia in Cannaregio 275, we already known about the matter on saturday the office of RAI VENEZIA are closed to the public. But we wanted to do some photos to the Palazzo Labia. We stopped at the little large of Santa Lucia Church near Palazzo Labia to do an FM Band scan with our 2 receivers DEGEN 1103 equipped with 2 filters each one 53 + 110 kHz, and in 2 hours we had a lot of fun to do it.... with lot of tourists looking at 2 ....mad men listening at radio ...hi!

You surely will remark some station has more than 2 frequencies heard quite well .....this is typical of the present total chaos in the Italian FM Band.
At around 1830 the sun went down a dirty building in bad conditions (lot of buidings seems in very bad conditions) so we went back to our hotel in Mestre by Bus 2 in Piazza Roma, there is a good service a bus every 10 minutes to come back to Mestre.

Around 2045 we met again Paolino Castagna to have dinner at Trattoria Da Ciano located in Via Ancona 16 (not far from Via Torino) we had a good selection of fish dishes and we spent the time talking about our preferred topics all related to the radio matters.
The price 30 Euro is quite good cause we drinked also white wine "Frizzantino"....

At around midnight we were again at the Hotel Roberta and we thanked very much our good friend for the pleasant evening spent together.

Domenica 23 aprile un sole sfavillante ci vedeva partire alle 0830 dall'ottimo Hotel Roberta, le stanze sul retro sono le più tranquille. In una Mestre deserta e con pochi stranieri diretti come noi in stazione eravamo pronti al trasferimento in treno da Mestre a Lubiana, costo 50 Euro..io e
Pavanello con l'intercity IC 52 Venezia - Budapest ... un treno di recente istituzione.... che arriva a Lubiana alle 1310 ed a Budapest alle 2030... il treno arrivava alle 0912 ... treno di 5 carrozze ...quasi deserto ...a parte il nostro scompartimento ...6 posti su 6 occupati .... mistero delle prenotazioni automatiche .... fatte alla cazzo di cane .... (foreign readers ...be quiet ...after my back return to Milano I will edit the complete story in Monferinglish .........hi!!!!! see down pls...)
Dopo 5 minuti passati a "cercare" di far capire ad una Villica Furlana che era in possesso di una prenotazione CON IL MIO STESSO NUMERO ma con la CARROZZA SBAGLIATA ... hi......... a togliersi di mezzo ... ed aver raccattato un "ma cerchi di essere comprensivo e piu gentile" da parte di una BIPEDE quattrocchi .... sempre nello stesso scomparto ...alla fine si partiva.

Grazie alla DEGEN 1103 il viaggio passava abbastanza in fretta e si potevano ascoltare anche le poche radio locali del Veneto Orientale e Friulane superstiti in FM ...per esempio 100.15 MHz R. Palazzo Carli di Sacile (dove opera l'amico Giuseppe Corba)(in //94,70 MHz) .... oppure su 90,00 MHz Radio Onde Furlane di Udine (che trasmette in Furlano..il linguaggio dei popoli preistorici che popolavano il Carso) ...100,90 MHz TPN Radio Hit Energy di Pordenone .... 99,00 MHz Top Radio Oderzo (in // 98,40 MHz)....88,80 MHz R. Piper Fontanafredda in // 93,80 MHz... 92,10 LA VOCE NEL DESERTO di Pordenone.... 103,70 Radio Spazio 103 di Udine (in // 91,90 MHz) ... Radio Fantasy 90,70 MHz (in // 89,10 MHz) .... 100,40 R. Comunque a man mano che il treno macinava km verso il confine sloveno ... i segnali Sloveni aumentavano ... per esempio su 91,70 MHz fino a Cervignano del Friuli si sentiva bene Radio Gorizia 1 .... poi 10 Km dopo a Monfalcone... al suo posto entrava Radio Capris di Koper .... il TX è situato dall'altra parte del Golfo di Trieste .... (occorre dire che Monfalcone è in provincia di Gorizia...) .... 88,60 MHz R. Koper ... 90,60 Radio Val (Onda) Koper.... 92,70 Slovenia 1 ... 94,10 R. Val 202 Koper (in // 94,30 & 95,30) ... 96,10 Slovenia 1 .... 100,00 R. Robin .... 100,30 R. Koper .... 102,20 Slovenia 3 .... 103,10 R. Capodistria Koper (in // 1170 kHz) ...104,70 R. Il treno non transitava da Trieste ma andava alla frontiera di Villa Opicina e la frontiera era passata senza intoppi e senza troppe lungaggini doganali ...... i segnali Italiani in FM proseguivano anche in terra Slovena .... tra gli altri un 106,20 MHz di Radio SUBASIO da Monte San Paolo (PU) ascoltata dopo la località di Pivka sulle alture .... altri segnali dal Veneto-Friuli arrivavano in zona successiva a Postojne 650 metri di altezza 105,50 R.Radicale, 107,80 R.Metrò... 106,80 MHz R. 24... 103,25 R. 105...103,40 RDS....
Il treno arrivava in orario a Lubiana 1312 e trovavamo ad attenderci in stazione l'amico di Nizza Christian Ghibaudo che era arrivato in aereo la sera prima ...con una triangolazione Nizza-Frankfurt-Lubiana offerta dalla Luftwafen Tedesca....compravamo i biglietti per il treno che il giorno dopo ci avrebbe portato a Capodistria, e quello internazionale da Capodistria a Fiume del giorno successivo. Essendo domenica non c'era molta affluenza in stazione... una bella stazione grande .... pulita... funzionale ....
Prendevamo un Taxi e ci sistemavamo all'Hotel Park di 12 piani.... in zona centrale ...i Taxi a Lubiana costicchiano .... 1600 Tolar (Talleri) per un viaggio di 8 minuti .... circa 4,5 Euro ....per un viaggio di 500 metri...
Alla reception ci davano una camera con vista panoramica al 10* Piano !!!! direzione Est Nord Est con una bella vista delle montagne Austriache di Klagenfurt (63 Km di distanza) ed infatti dopo un immediato controllo ascoltavo con la Degen 1103 varie emittenti tedesche dal ripetitore di zona Klagenfurt : 97,80 MHz Radio K; 98,70 MHz R.Krone Hit; 99,10 MHz Antenne 1; 102,90 FM 4; 104,9 MHz Antenne ORF; 105,5 MHz ORF 2.
Alle 1530 in Taxi ci facevamo portare al Castello Gradovi di Lubiana (spesa 1400 Talleri) con 347 metri domina la citta'.... molto ben conservato ...alla domenica ha spettacoli di canti e ballettipopolari... pertanto c'era molta gente... il Park platz Parking era esaurito di auto ... grazie al fatto che c'erano tante panchine ne sceglievo una in posizione Ovest-Sud Ovest..... per limitare i segnali dei TX locali di Lubiana posti su tralicci sul lato opposto della collina del Castello Gradovi.
Questo dava buoni risultati ed ascoltavo un segnale abbastanza inatteso .... 87.50 MHz Radio Capital situato a Monte Grande (Bologna) con un phading molto lungo ... un simile effetto lo avevo notato solo una volta sulla costa del Mar Baltico in Finlandia mentre ascoltavo le radio FM di St.Pietroburgo...Ma in Aprile la Tropo non è di solito molto forte e non mi aspettavo di ascoltare un TX dalla zona di Bologna. La giornata con 22 gradi ed un sole scintillante ed una bella brezza da nord, dopo le 1700 si guastava con l'arrivo di nuvole nere da nord foriere di un temporale con tuoni e fulmini che però si fermava a 30 Km a nord di Lubiana...
Comunque in 3 ore terminavo un bandscan completo ....anche grazie ad un punto di riferimento di un Bandscan fatto nel giugno 2004 da Joachim Firchau dalla stessa postazione con una autoradio Blaupunkt.... La differenza principale la riscontravo nel fatto che c'erano meno segnali dalla Croazia.... mentre i segnali dall'Italia erano abbastanza numerosi.

Purtroppo le condizioni peggioravano dopo le ore 1700 con l'arrivo del temporale....
Alle 1845 arrivavano Pavanello e Ghibaudo che avevano fatto un po di turismo in città....
per nostra fortuna il temporale da nord cambiava rotta verso est....facevamo in tempo a fotografare un bellissimo arcobaleno.
Tornavamo in albergo in Taxi .... che costava solo 2 Euro (era in discesa ?????).
Alle ore 2030 andavamo a cenare al Ristorante tipico Sokol, consigliato da tutti coloro che hanno visitato Lubiana, localizzato in Ciril Metodov TRG 18 proprio nel centro storico, non avevamo prenotato ...ERRORE da evitare se qualcuno vuole provare questo ottimo ristorante telefono 01-4396855 dopo 30 minuti di attesa un tavolo si liberava.
Mangiavamo antipasto CONTADINO (pure con il GORGONZOLA SLOVENO) poi Risottino con i Funghetti del Bosco della Sava, poi un Pollo alla SOKOL (simile al Kentuky ... ma per mia fortuna molto ben cotto e ricoperto da un dolce soft strato di erbette ....) poi seguiva uno strepitoso Tiramisu Sokol .... concludendo con un Cognac ........La spesa era di 30 Euro .... in Italia sarebbe costato il doppio.
Rientravamo in Hotel e dal 10 piano con una vista notturna spettacolare avevo modo di ricontrollare la FM ...e notavo un aumento dei segnali da Est - Sud Est dalla Croazia ...oltre che le 3 RAI dal Monte Venda ..... ed alle emittenti Austriache che arrivavano come locali.

2nd PART MESTRE-VENEZIA to LUBIANA-SLOVENIA (23 APRIL 2006)

Sunday 23 April after a quick breakfast at Hotel Roberta we arrived at Mestre rail station full of turists going to Venezia .... every 15 minutes there is a train... our train IC 52 Venezia S. Lucia to Budapest arrived at 0912 ...omly 5 wagoons ... arrival at 1312 hours in Lubiana ...and 2030 in Budapest... not so many people going to Slovenia, but our reserved sits in a section of 6 places with 6 people ....hi! the reservation often makes this kind of self service.... we had some discussion with a lady with reservation in a different wagoon and same number sit .... hard to explain the matter ... but finally the problem has been solved... hi !!!
Thanks to the portable DEGEN 1103 the travel went more speedy listening to the not so many local stations in the FM Band ...for exemple : 100.15 MHz R. Palazzo Carli (Sacile) in //94,70 MHz 90,00 MHz Radio Onde Furlane in Udine (They have programs in Furlan language !!! very rare to listen to if you do not live in Udine); 100,90 MHz TPN Radio Hit Energy in Pordenone ; 99,00 MHz Top Radio Oderzo (in // 98,40 MHz). 88,80 MHz R. Piper Fontanafredda in // 93,80 MHz; 92,10 MHz LA VOCE NEL DESERTO in Pordenone; 103,70 MHz Radio Spazio 103 di Udine (in // 91,90 MHz); Radio Fantasy 90,70 MHz (in // 89,10 MHz); 100,40 R. Mortegliano (with Sunday SS Messa local).
Going to east and approaching to Slovenja more signals from Slovenia stations has been heard : an exemple on 91,70 MHz till Cervignano del Friuli town you get Radio Gorizia 1 ...but just 10 Km later in Monfalcone the signal of Radio Capris Koper arrived from Monte Nanos (need to say Monfalcone is in Gorizia province), Other signals from Slovenia: 88,60 MHz R. Koper ... 90,60 Radio Val (Onda) Koper.... 92,70 Slovenia 1 ... 94,10 R. Val 202 Koper (in // 94,30 & 95,30) ... 96,10 Slovenia 1 .... 100,00 R. Robin .... 100,30 R. Koper .... 102,20 Slovenia 3 .... 103,10 R. Capodistria Koper (in // 1170 kHz). The only signal detected in train from Croazia : 104,70 R. Fiume Rijeka. May be something has not been reported but at 99% these are the signals who usually may be heard from the Friuli coast.
Our train do not crossed Trieste, but directly passed the border at Villa Opicina, but not too much controls and just with the identity card, no need of Passport cause Slovenia is yet in UE area....The Italian signals on FM conitued to be monitored also in the Slovenia territory, for exemple 106,20 MHz Radio Subasio (Monte San Paolo near Rimini!!!) heard after passing Pivka on the hills. More signals from Veneto-Friuli also after passing Postojne at 650 meters :105,50 R.Radicale, 107,80 R.Metrò... 106,80 MHz R. 24... 103,25 R. 105...103,40 RDS.
The train arrived in time in Lubiana and we found at the rail station waiting for us our friend from Nizza(France) arrived by airjet the day before with flight Nizza-Frankfurt-Lubiana of Luftwafen.
Almost desert rail station cause it was sunday..... we bought the tomorrow travel tickect to go to Koper (cost 9 Euro), and at international selling tickect office we also bought the following day travel Koper-Fiume cost 15 Euro.
A very big station well organized and with workers speaking in English... outside we found Taxi and we keep one to go the Park Hotel located 500 meters from rail station in Cesta Tabor 9. cost 70 Euro a double room. WEB : http://www.hotelpark.si EMAIL : hotelpark@siol.net The cost of the Taxi in Slovenia is not so cheap...it starts from 3,5 Euro the cost of the ride and it jumpup ... so usually you pay 5-7 Euro.
We get a room at 10 floor with glittering skyline view towards North East ... the mountains of Klagenfurt area at around 63 km distance... full of snow.
Apart the good location the room had some problems... the phoneline brocken... but in fact the price is good.
I soon controlled the FM band and I got some signals from Austrian FM stations all located at Klagenfurt TX : 97,80 MHz Radio K; 98,70 MHz R.Krone Hit; 99,10 MHz Antenne 1; 102,90 FM 4; 104,9 MHz Antenne ORF; 105,5 MHz ORF 2.
At 1530 in Taxi (8 Euro) we went to the Gradovi Castle of the city which with 347 meters is dominating the city.... the castle is very well conserved and still are working for maintenances, on sunday no works so no noise ...hi... and usually are music concerts and popular folk songs and ballets, so lot of people... I choose a place to sit down under cherry trees and in the view direction towards South-South West... to limit a little the RF noise coming from some FM repeaters on the other side of the hill.
So with a surprise I noted soon on 87,50 MHz Radio Capital from Italy ... TX located in Monte Grande (Bologna) .... about 250 km .... with a particular long phading....

But surely not the TROPO conditions you may get in summer and almost not so many signals from Croazia has been noted that afternoon.
After 1700 hours conditions becomed less good for reception from Italy .... only RAI Monte Venda remained sable... the main reason has been a big storm coming from north with lot of riders..... but luckly for me ...remaing outside the city limits ...and gradually going to East....
At 1845 arrived Pavanello and Ghibaudo who had some turistic city visit to the historical buildings in the city center... so after a photo to a nice rainbow ...we took a Taxi (you need always call taxi in Lubiana) but from Castle Park Platz there is a train motor service every 30 minutes.... cost 1 Euro.
The Taxi ride costed only 2 Euro .... may be .... cause the Taxi going down ?? hi!
At 2030 we moved again to go to restourant called SOKOL (Slovenian national food) located in the city center in Ciril Mtodov TRG 18 .... but we did not do the reservation cause ... phoneproblem and the Hotel receptionist said no needs reservation ... but at the restourant we found many people waiting for a table .... downstair ... reserved places upstair... after 30 minutes ...we got our table... I choose : ANTIPASTO CONTADINO SOKOL (with Gorgonzola Sloveno!!) followed by Rise with Funghetti of Forest of Sava River; and Pollo Chicken Sokol with vegetable of Slovenia. Last Tiramisu Sokol .... Price just 30 Euro....
Quite satisfeat for this good dinner we went back to Hotel Park (this time a speedy taxi .... just 3 Euro)
The Hotel has an internet free service but unfortunatly the receptionist said it was not working properly ....so no internet access ....
From 10 floor room a very impressive night view of the city lights ... in the FM band however just some more signals from Croazia and all the Austrian FM signals ...like to be in Klagenfurt ...and the 3 RAI repeaters in Monte Venda.

Next will be on monday 24 April the visit at the Lubiana Radio stations .... DOBRO ...Ciao !!!!

Lunedi 24 aprile una giornata di sole quasi estivo, qui a Lubiana, con una temperatura di 22°C gradi, mi trovo all'internet Point "Cyber Xplorer" situato in Petkovskovo Nabrezje 23 nel centro storico di Lubiana dopo il ponte della Preseren Square.
Dopo un iniziale problema di interconnessione, ora va meglio, è aperto ogni giorno dalle 1000 alle 2200, WEB: http://www.sisky.com costa 1620 Talleri per 2 ore, circa 4 Euro.
Oggi abbiamo visitato le emittenti di Lubiana, per visitarle abbiamo utilizzato i Taxi telefono 031-311311, ma Lubiana ha un ottima rete di autobus, a causa del tempo disponibile abbiamo optato per i Taxi, alcune emittenti sono dislocate in periferia e con l'uso dei mezzi pubblici ci sarebbe voluto molto più tempo.
La nostra visita è iniziata con il Gruppo editoriale che gestisce 3 emittenti : RGL 99,50 MHz Radio Glas Lubiana (LA VOCE DI LUBIANA) attiva da oltre 20 anni. R. Veseljak 99,50 MHz e R. Salomon 87,70 MHz. Ci accoglieva la simpatica e gentilissima Mojca Briscik di origini Italiane dalla zona di Capodistria in Italiano. Visitavamo tutti gli studi e facevamo alcune foto. Un gruppo radiofonico molto ben organizzato situato in Cesta (Via) 24 Junija 23 un po in periferia. WEB : http://www.rgl.si
Il direttore Avgustin Vidmar gentilmente ci trovava anche alcuni vecchi adesivi di RGL che sono una rarità, oltre a T-shirt, Cuciadesivi, ed i bellissimi mouse pad delle 3 emittenti, infatti pare che le radio di Lubiana li considerano passati di moda, ora ci sono CUCIADESIVI di Stoffa....Mouse Pad .... Bicchieri di vetro ...coffee mugs .... portapass ...lapis ...biro ....T-shirts... ETC ETC ETC.

Ringraziavamo la simpatica Mojca ed in Taxi arrivavamo a Radio Ognjisce (Focolare) una emittente a carattere Cristiano e localizzata nella sede della chiesa parrocchiale di Sentvid (in periferia direzione Kranj), in un parco favoloso, opera con varie frequenze che coprono quasi tutta la Slovenia, quella utilizzata per la zona di Lubiana è di 104,50 MHz, l'emittente è situata in Cesta Stula 23 pp 4863, SLO-1210 Lubiana-Sentvid.

Anche qui trovavamo una ottima accoglienza nonostante non avessimo fissato un appuntamento, il direttore dei programmi Jure Sesek ci faceva visitare l'emittente e ci offriva anche bibite e dolcetti vari .... ricevevamo anche qui tanti souvenirs ...tra l'altro anche un SET di 3 bicchieri con il logo della emittenti, la T-Shirt multicolorata e dopo ricerche approfondite anche un vecchio adesivo di 10 anni fa quando l'emittente venne inaugurata da Giovanni Paolo II. L'emittente durante la giornata ripete i notiziari in Sloveno di Radio Vaticano. L'emittente edita ogni mese una pubblicazione "PRO" con molte informazioni sulle attività della radio. Proseguivamo in Taxi per la Ex Radio GAMA MM 106,40 MHz che dal 1 Maggio cambia nome ...diventa Radio Ekspres .... l'indirizzo non cambia: Cesta Stegne 21/C, 3, SLO-1101 Lubiana. A causa dei lavori in corso la visita era breve, Matej Setina il direttore dei programmi ci aspettava (il suo nuovo email: matej.setina@ekpress.si ) raccattavamo alcuni materiali del passato di Radio GAMA MM, biglietti pubblicitari ...ed una coffee mug, facevamo anche una foto al vecchio logo dipinto sulla pareta all'ingresso.... la vecchia WEB : http://www.gamamm.si è già connessa alla nuova WEB: http://www.ekspres.si la nuova EMail: glasba@ekspres.si L'emittente si dirige ad un pubblico giovane e sportivo, il cambio del nome è dovuto alla difficoltà di pronuncia del nome originale (questa la spiegazione ricevuta).
Dopo di che andavamo a INFO NET una organizzazione radiofonica, la loro WEB: http://www.infonet.fm che raggruppa una TV INFO tv e 3 emittenti: Radio Antena 105,2 MHz ; Radio Sport 107,90 MHz e Radio Orion 90,60 MHz. L'organizzazione INFO NET controlla 30 emittenti in tutto il paese ...offre notiziari ogni ora ... equipaggiamenti per trasmettere .... insomma è a livello nazionale un forte impulso radiofonico ... attualmente gli uffici e studi sono in CESTA Na BRDO 27-29, SLO-1100 Lubiana. Tutti gli altri recapiti sono inesatti. Andrej Vodusek è il Direttore Tecnico, se avete rapporti di ascolto è meglio che lo contattate via email se volete una conferma, EMail: andrej.vodusek@infonet.fm Noi abbiamo avuto un po di c... lo abbiamo trovato indaffaratissimo e ci ha fatto visitare i 3 studi in 5 minuti.
La dislocazione degli studi è ancora provvisoria, hanno già cambiato 3 sedi in 2 anni. Ricevuti portapass ma nessun adesivo reperito (non vanno più di moda dice Andrej) Comunque notavamo una certa reticenza nell'avere informazioni sull'organizzazione di INFONET SLOVENIA ... e le altre emittenti visitate lo hanno paragonato ad una organizzazione commerciale dai retroscena non molto chiari.... In ogni caso la visita era completata.
In Taxi ci spostavamo alla vicina città Universitaria di Lubiana dove ha sede Radio Student 89,30 MHz, la storica emittente che trasmette dal 1968 !!!!!....trovavamo Peter Barbaric il direttore che con passione la manda avanti ...con lui parlavamo della storia di Radio Student iniziata sui 104 MHz lottando contro il regime di Tito. Situata in Cesta 27 Aprila 31, Dom 14 (Edificio 14), 6 piano. Visitavamo tutti gli uffici,(gli studi sono al 7 piano). Ottenevamo vari adesivi ed anche di staccare due rari adesivi di Radio MARS di Maribor. WEB : http://www.radiostudent.si Se avete bisogno di contattare l'emittente la EMail : peter.barbaric@radiostudent.si Peter non parla Italiano ma potete scrivere in Inglese. L'emittente trasmette musica etnica e musica rock, ha inoltre molti programmi dedicati ai temi cari ai pacifisti.
Ringraziavamo Peter per le sue interessanti notizie sulla storia dell'emittente.... in attesa che scriva un libro su Radio Student ... la prima Radio veramente libera.
Concludevamo la giornata con un tentativo alla Radio Nazionale, situata in Kolodvorska Ulica 2-4, SLO-1550 Lubiana, ma nonostante gli sforzi, non ottenevamo nulla. Avevamo inviato varie lettere in gennaio-febbraio, varie email, ma nessuno ci ha degnato di attenzione. Provabilmente a loro non interessa avere visitatori esteri. EMail: boris.bergant@rtvslo.si Una annotazione finale.... il 29 Aprile l'amico Gino De Nobili ha ricevuto una QSLcard da Radio Slovenija 918 kHz in 31 giorni, spedita il 26 aprile .... nessun V/s.... ma viene da pensare che la nostra visita ha ... smosso le acque ???
OK .... tra 20 minuti parte il treno per Capodistria ..il viaggio continua !!!!

3rd PART VISIT TO LUBIANA-SLOVENIA RADIO STATIONS (23 APRIL 2006)

Monday 24 April we visited the radio stations of Lubiana, a sunny morning, we utilized Taxi cause the time running and some radio stations being located in periferic places of the city, taxi costs 4-9 Euro but divided by 3 it is not so high price, and taxists in Lubiana are very good and organized, no problem to find the addresses looklike in central and south america.
First to be seen the 3 radio stations of the Editorial Group of RGL 99,50 MHz Radio Glas Lubiana (Radio Voice of Lubiana), broacasting from 20 years. R. Veseljak 99,50 MHz e R. Salomon 87,70 MHz. We had appointment with Miss Mojca Briscik, she is from Koper area (Istria) so she speaks fluently in Italian and this helped to get more friendly contact. So we visited the studios and we took some photos of the modern computerized studios. They are located in: Cesta 24 Junija 23 in periferic area to north. WEB : http://www.rgl.si
The Director Avgustin Vidmar kindly found some old stickrs of RGL Radio, we also got T-shirt, clothpatch, beautiful mouse pads of the 3 radiostations with logos multicolours, infact the radios of Lubiana have not been printing stickers in past 2 years, on the contrary they are printing all other gadgets di looklike the Mouse Pads, coffee mugs, glass cups, portapass, pens, nice T-shirts and more.

We thanks lot the kind Miss Mojca and with a Taxi we arrived at Radio Ognjisce (domestic fireplace) a Cristian station with strong connections with Vatican Radio, the station address is: Cesta Stula 23 pp 4863, SLO-1210 Lubiana-Sentvid. The station has been inaugurated by Pope Johan Paul II about 10 years ago. The studios are located in the parrocchial Church of Sentvid (going to Kranji), with a large beautiful park, the local frequency is 104,50 MHz, but they cover almost all the Slovenia with more frequencies.
Also this visit resulted very friendly even if we have not had a fixed appointment by email, the Program Director Mr. Jure Sesek, said welcome to our radio station and show us the studios and facilities, also the Chapel of the Radio. He also offered soft drinks and some biscuits cakes....
Radio Ognjisce has regular rebrodcasts of Radio Vatican Slovenian news and programs during the day. They have also edit every month "PRO" Prijatelji Radio Ognjisce with photos and program schedule.

We appreciated very much the present received at the end of our visit : 3 glass cups with logos set each one of the 3 of us, T-shirt with full colors, and a very old sticker. No stickers has been printed in past 2 years. We thanks lot Mr. Jure and we moved to another radio station.
So we arrived in 5 minutes taxi ride to the building where is located Radio GAMA MM operating on 106,40 MHz, they are changing name from 1st may 2006 with the new name Radio Ekspres, the address will not change : Cesta Stegne 21/C, 3, SLO-1101 Lubiana. However cause the works to replace most of the studios equipments the young Program Director Matej Setina, who replied to our EMail kindly geave us some printed matters with old logo and a coffee mug, we also done a photo to the enter wall with the old logo, (his new EMail mail: matej.setina@ekpress.si )
The new WEB page is yet running : http://www.ekspres.si new contact EMail: glasba@ekspres.si The reason of the change of the name is the old name was difficult to be annonced over the air ..... no ideas if thy will print soon the stickers with the new logo.
We also got useful informations got from Matej we understood where were located the stations owned by INFONET Slovenia: TV INFO TV + 3 FM Stations: Radio Antena 105,2 MHz ; Radio Sport 107,90 MHz & Radio Orion 90,60 MHz. Their WEB page http://www.infonet.si is giving the correct address (if you click contact) : CESTA Na BRDO 27-29, SLO-1100 Lubiana. All the other precedents addresses are wrong, they changed place 3 times in past 2 years !!!. Andrej Vodusek is the Chief Engineer and look like all the Chief Engineers of our planer is always very busy, if you want to get verified one of the 3 stations of INFONET operating in Lubiana EMail: andrej.vodusek@infonet.fm Andrej kindly shown to us the studios of the 3 FM stations in 5 minutes and we also took some photos.
The INFONET organisation control 30 local stations in the whole country, to the affiliated stations they offer news broadcasts on the hour... Broadcasting equipments .... it is a very organized media at national level. A pity however almost for us Andrej said stickers are no more a gadget useful to advertise the radio stations, he geave to us Portapass and T-shirts of INFONET.....
Another Taxi short ride of 5 minutes and we arrived at the first independent Radio station of former Yugoslavia of TITO the dictator, Radio Student Lubiana operating from 1968 year !!!!! located at the University Campus : Cesta 27 Aprila 31, Dom 14 (Building 14), 6th floor. (studios at 7 floor) WEB : http://www.radiostudent.si EMail : peter.barbaric@radiostudent.si We met Peter Barbaric the General Manager who with great passion is operating the station which he said is totally independent, his spirit is to broadcast messages of peace and freedom and rock and ethnik music and sounds. So in the panorama of the FM stations of Lubiana is in my opinion the best station if you will visit the town. The programs are also cultural and often connected with AMARC Canada organisation for human rights.
We had lot of talks in English with Peter (he doesn't speaks Italian) about the story of Radio Student started in 1968 on 104 MHz, and survived for many years .... we got some stickers and we also took from the walls of the upstair rooms 2 stickers from Radio Mars 95,90 MHz operating in Maribor (another free radio station). So we thanked very much Peter for the time he spent with us and we moved to our last planned visit to do in Lubiana.
The building of the National Radio in Lubiana is located at : Kolodvorska Ulica 2-4, SLO-1550 Lubiana. Unfortunatly unless our efforts started in January no reply has been received to our letters and email sent to them ..... the foreign relations EMail: boris.bergant@rtvslo.si but as told you ....no reply ... so at the reception we try this name ... but not in office... a lady going to the office after lunch break also said no one in the office at this time of the day (1430-1530 hours) ... so we accepted the reality .... Need to say Radio Slovenia International is based in Maribor and has no office in Lubiana, frequency 100,80 MHz for Lubiana. So may be if you go to Maribor you may get more lucky ??? with them ???. Final remark : on 29 April an Italian friend Gino De Nobili, reported to have got a QSL card from Radio Slovenia 918 kHz after 31 days... latter mailed the 26 april .... just a case or ... a reaction to our visit ??? no V/s on the QSL card...
So I went with Roberto and Christian at the center to buy some postcards at the tourist office in Presernov TRG (square) (they sell at cheap price 0,30 Euro) and also sell stamps for the postcards.... and not far from this place there is the internet cyber point Xplorer WEB : http://www.sisky.com open 1000-2200 hours. Located at : Petkovskovo Nabrezje 23 .... it is parking place with tickect only.... price is 4 Euro for 2 hours...
After this internet moment for me at 1730 hours my travel friends arrived and we went directly to central rail station to pick up the train IC for Koper 9 Euro the cost....

Siamo arrivati ieri sera 24 aprile alle 1730 a Capodistria l'Intercity Lubiana Capodistria fa un ottimo servizio, avevamo uno scompartimento tutto per noi. In treno ho ascoltato con il DEGEN 1103 e a man mano che ci si avvicinava alla costa Slovena di Capodistria i segnali Italiani sulla FM si facevano sempre più numerosi... tra gli altri sui 90,00 MHz compariva ONDE FURLANE di Udine, e l'amico Christian Ghibaudo per la prima volta poteva ascoltare una radio che trasmette in FURLANO !!!! la lingua dei popoli della preistoira della Carnia.
Se le premesse per fare ascolti dalla zona di Capodistria in FM dall'Italia erano ottime, poi in pratica dalla zona dell'albergo Vodisek situato a 300 metri dalla stazione ferroviaria ... l'RF in FM assumeva risvolti drammatici .... un BBBUUUZZZZZZ continuo quasi ovunque ... forse le enormi ( 8 metri per 2 insegne con lampade rosse con scritto HOTEL in grande ???) oppure i ripetitori FM locali sulle colline prossime alla città ???? risultato ...pareva di essere a Milano in zona Sempione ..... hi!!!!
Hotel Vodisek , in Cesta Kolodvorska 2 , WEB : http://www.hotel-vodisek.com/ EMail : koper@hotel-vodisek.com Una camera doppia costa 60 Euro....la gentile signora Natasa ci dava il benvenuto (parla in Italiano) una grande magnata costa 20 Euro... nell'Hotel c'è anche un ristorante aperto fino alle ore 2400, e fatto importante : hanno anche servizio di internet gratuito per i clienti .... che funziona !!!!
Pavanello decideva di mangiare spaghetti alla bolognese poi Omelette alla crema di asparagi .... dopo un antipasto misto affettato di salumi e formaggi vari dell'Istria.... poi + tardi avveniva una ...esplosione al suo interno ...Hi... a me andava meglio con cotolette di maiale... un po dure per i miei dentini ... mentre il primo era ottimo " tortellini alla bolognese con molto formaggio grattuggiato" sopra ....
Dato che era stata una intensa giornata appena tornavo in camera ...piombavo in un sonno profondo ...hi !

Non era festivo in Slovenia, al contrario dell'Italia dove si festeggia la festa della Liberazione.... fatta la colazione ed una breve visita all'internet dell'Hotel, alle 0920 ci muovevamo con un TAXI SRECKO 24 ore non stop 031-386000 ... il Taxista arrivava 19 minuti dopo averlo chiamato dall'Hotel .... forse prima di arrivare da noi era andato a fare un giro in ....Italia ???? Avevamo l'appuntamento alle 1000 con Radio Portoroz ... loro ci avevano mandato una email di conferma ... fanno parte del gruppo INFONET... noi avevamo un indirizzo che era riportato nell'elenco http://www.gov.si/srd/eng/main34.html un elenco governativo... e ci eravamo illusi che fosse aggiornato.
Le 2 emittenti del gruppo INFO NET risultavano localizzate vicino a KOPER .... ed infatti il taxista ci ha portati all'indirizzo che risultava da tale elenco ufficiale delle emittenti della Slovenia ...dunque una fonte ufficiale .... che riportava RADIO PORTOROZ come situata in Cesta na MARKOVEC 57 KOPER PORTOROZ... una normale casa a 5 piani dove però non c'era traccia di emittenti... che fare ??? abbiamo chiamato con il cellulare di Christian un altro Taxista che in 5 minuti è arrivato... molto gentile e di buona volontà... si metteva a caccia di Radio Portoroz ... chiamava tutti !!! amici, meccanici, la sede dei taxi... la fidanzata ... alla fine trovava la risposta ... la nuova sede di Radio Portoroz in zona commerciale un po fuori città ... Smarska Cesta 7/a, 2 piano, SLO-6600 Koper. Trovavamo ad attenderci Alex Serle.. che ci diceva....." siete in ritardo!!!!" ... quello che ci aveva inviato la email di invito a visitare Radio Portoroz... scordandosi di scrivere dove si trova l'emittente.
Gli spiegavamo il problema incontrato per trovarli ....e lui ci diveva che nella loro WEB page c'era l'indirizzo .... gli facevo fare un controllo e ... constatavamo che di indirizzi stradali nella WEB non ce n'erano ...hi!!!! che simpatici questi INFONET .... la sede è presso una ex discoteca ...chiusa 2 anni fa per problemi di ordine pubblico .... ora nell'edificio ci sono vari uffici... loro sono al 3°piano senza ascensore ... l'emittente si chiama Radio Morje Portoroz 93,40 MHz + 88,30 MHz ( Radio Mare Portoroz) Alex ci dava molte informazioni , per esempio il nome di Portoroz deriva da PORTOROSE nome dato al piccolo porto fondato da un mercante Veneziano del XVI secolo che era finito li erenato con il suo 3 alberi ... carico di spezie e buon vino frizzantino bianco... magari lui ed i suoi marinai ne avevano pure bevuti alcuni ettolitri ed avevano perso la .... bussola. La costa era tutta un fiore rosa dei ciliegi e così il nome Portorose.

Raddrizzata la giornata .... ci spostavamo in taxi (okkio i taxi a Koper costano salati .... partono da 690 Talleri .... 3 Euro ...) per visitare Radio Ognjisce Koper attiva su 107,30 MHz & 91,30 MHz, dislocata nella piazza centrale di Koper TRG.BROLO 11, SLO-6001 KOPER. dentro all'arcivescovado. EMail : Email:studio.koper@ognjisce.si WEB : http://radio.ognjisce.si/stiki/naslovi_kp.php Ci stava aspettando il Direttore FRANC BOLE che parla un ottimo Italiano, il suo EMail personale, se volete contattarlo per inviare un rapporto di ascolto : franc.bole@ognjisce.si L'emittente è ricevibile anche nella zona di Rimini su 91,20 MHz con buone condizioni TROPO in estate. Franc Bole molto gentilmente ci dava alcune "reliquie" (non di santi ...) della radio: cartoline ed anche un favoloso adesivo risalente al ...paleontolico della radiodiffusione locale !!!! l'emittente esiste da 11 anni.
Contraccambiavo con adesivi di Radio Vaticano. Altrettanto gradita poi la FAMOSA "Grappa alle ciliegie rosate di Koper" da qui il nome di PORTOROZ ...porto dei ciliegi rosati.
La razione di GRAPPA ...era simile a 10 porzioni di COGNAC del Ristorante SOKOL... hi! pertanto ... alla fine della visita eravamo pure ritemprati nello ...spirito ...hi... Forse per tale motivo ...il gentilissimo FRANC ci accompagnava alla vicina sede di RADIO CAPODISTRIA, in Cesta OF 15, SLO-6000 Koper....dove dovevamo arrivare un ora prima .... comunque trovavamo ad attenderci l'amichevole e grande entusiasta della emittenza locale MIRO DELLORE redattore capo del settore Italiano. Lui ci faceva conoscere l'emittente che io e Roberto abbiamo seguito per tanti anni ... ancora prima di diventare scafati DXers mondiali .... negli anni 1965-1975 la seguivamo sovente quando con i 300 kW oprava su 1169 kHz (dal 1978 diventati 1170 kHz)....arrivava anche nella PADANIA OCCIDENTALE.
Ora con 10 kW, copre solo il Veneto, Friuli e costa Romagnola di giorno, mentre di notte è martellata dalla Bielorussia e dalla nuova stronzata Yankee Radio SAWA operante dal Golfo Persico.
Di quei bei tempi .... ci rimane la valvola dei 300 kW (che abbiamo fotografato) ... che si trova in bella mostra con altri cimeli nell'ingresso al piano terra della radio, molto interessanti e che abbiamo fotografato con la nuova camera digitale di Pavanello......visitavamo proprio tutto in 30 minuti... davvero una bella visita ... attesa da almeno 35 anni!!!! Purtroppo la crisi economica della Radio Slovena non ha più permesso di stampare gadgets .... da almeno 3 anni ..ed il libro dei 50 anni di R.CAPODISTRIA era esaurito. CAPRIS ...nome antico di Koper ... cioe' la collina delle CAPRE !!!!!!!!!!! ubicata un po fuori città : ULICA (VIALE) 15 MAJA 10/b al 2* piano (PIANO in Sloveno NADSTROPJE)...trovavamo ad attenderci JAKA IVANCIC del settore programmi ... anche lui parla in Italiano, il suo EMail personale : jaka.ivancic@radiocapris.com Visitavamo gli studi e ci venivano dati gli adesivi con il vecchio logo 87,90 MHz...i nuovi sono in stampa .... le frequenze : 87,90 MHz , 105,10 MHz e la nuova frequenza 91,70 MHz che ha fatto ESPLODERE una discussione AMPLIFICATA in Italia da alcuni BUZZURRI che non hanno capito che le frequenze non si comprano al mercato rionale (come in Italia)...ma che sono rigorosamente assegnate dall'ENTE SLOVENO DELLA EMITTENZA.
Fatto sta che l'umore in redazione non era dei migliori al nostro arrivo....hi!!!!! ....ma grazie ad alcuni pacchi di adesivi ITALIANI di vari networks (specialmente Radio Deejay) ...l'umore migliorava e ci permetteva di venire omaggiati di alcune TAZZE..ed anche i vecchi adesivi 87,90 MHz ...quelli nuovi avranno il simbolo del SOLE con le note musicali, che potete vedere visitando la loro pagina WEB : http://live.radiocapris.com oppure http://www.radiocapris.com ...così si concludeva in bellezza il tour radiofonico di KOPER-CAPODISTRIA ....riuscito al 100%.

4th PART VISIT TO KOPER SLOVENIA RADIO STATIONS (25 APRIL 2006)

The intercity train Lubiana-Koper with 9 Euro took us in 2 hours and 30 minutes at our next travel stop, in Koper.
Koper is located in the same gulf area of Trieste, so approaching to the town by train we heard many radio stations from Italy, among them on 90,00 MHz Radio Onde Furlane broadcasting from Udine in Furlan local language.
However after our arrival at the Hotel Vodisek located 300 meters from the rail station of Koper, I soon tested the FM band and discovered a very strong RF noise .... no ideas if it was coming from the giant HOTEL light positioned outside the entrance of the Hotel ??? or may be the local FM station transmitters on the hills of Koper ?? making a BBBBUUUUZZZZZZ on many frequencies and almost limitating reception to only local signals.

Mrs. Natasa welcomed us at our arrival (she speaks in Italian) A big dinner cost 20 Euro.... the Hotel has a good restourant open till midnight, and a very important matter : they have free internet access !!!!
So we had a good dinner at the Hotel, we choose salam & fromages ; spaghetti bolognese & tortellini ; spinaces & omelettes with sauce of local asparages... a bit too salt... hi!!!
I had also time to look at internet at Hotel... and soon after to come back at the room I sleeped immediately.

The 25 April in Italy is holidays cause is the Liberation Day after 2nd world war... naturally in Slovenia is a normal working day... so we should have visited the Koper radio stations.
We started with the 2 stations of the INFONET group, and we called a TAXI SRECKO 24 ore non stop Phone 031-386000, and it arrived after 19 minutes ...may be he first went to Trieste ???? hi!!! We geave to the Taxi driver the address we had of Radio Portoroz : Cesta na MARKOVEC 57 KOPER PORTOROZ, we found it in the official list of the Slovenian Govern... WEB : http://www.gov.si/srd/eng/main34.html but after a 15 minutes drive and a cost of 10 Euro we arrived on the hills of Portoroz and we found a normal living house building of 5 floors ...and no radio station at all....hi! So we called another Taxi driver who arrived quite soon.. luckly a young taxi driver... to whom we explained the problem : we are searching for Radio Portoroz .... so he started to phone to the many places, the Taxi office, friends, his girlfriend !!! and finally he found the correct address in the commercial area of Koper !!! not in Portoroz.. Smarska Cesta 7/a, 2 floor, SLO-6600 Koper.
At the INFONET Koper at 2nd floor we met Alex Serle who said " but you are a bit later on ..." He sent to us the invitation to visit Radio Portoroz...but forgetting to write the studios address.... may be to test our level of intelligence...hi!!!
We explained what happened to find the correct address, and he replied in our WEB page there is our address.. a quick control however showed no address in the WEB page... hi!!!! really unicum these workers of INFONET. The building there is located it has been a discotek till 2 years ago.

We got many gadgets: t-shirts, coffee mugs, pocketcalendars (2002 year), many stickers !!!! So almost from the collectionistic viewpoint we started quite well. Final remark during our 45 minutes visit no one visited the office .... so I guess probably only the staff know about were they are located..... hi!!!!!
The Taxi in Koper area starts from 690 Tollars (about 3,30 Euro) so they are not so economic, but inevitably if you don't have too much time you need to use them, next to be seen the Christian station Radio Ognjisce Studio Koper transmitting on 107,30 MHz & 91,30 MHz. Kindly he shown to us the studios and told us about the programs, and he also found some old postcard of the radio and an rare large sticker printed in the beginning of their activity started about 11 years ago.
I had with me some Vatican Radio stickers for him. He also offered to us the FAMOUS "grappa at rose cherry"
The quantity he offered resulted 10 times more than the Cognac quantity got at Sokol Restaurant ...hi!!! so at the end of our visit we were also in good mood and ...spirit...hi!!! So Franc wanted to take us to the nearer (100 meters) building of RADIO CAPODISTRIA in (Street) Cesta OF 15, SLO-6000 Koper. After having thanked a lot Franc Bole for his very kind assistence we entered in the building of Radio Koper and we met the Program Director of the Italian Service Miro Dellore, who is from many years doing his best to manage the station, so he showed to us all !!!
First at the basement floor of the building there are many old souvenirs of the past, photos on the walls, and old equipment in good conditions, we saw and photographed also the original big 300 kW valvular of the MW transmitter operating in the 60's-80's on 1169 kHz (changed to 1170 kHz from 1978), during these years it was possible to listen to the station also at daylight time in Milano and Vercelli. So for me and Pavanello a good souvenir of our start as listeners. Unfortunatly more recently the power on 1170 kHz is only 10 kW and this makes quite hard, if you are not living in the 200 km range distance from the TX to get their signal at daylight time, and at evening on 1170 kHz you have troubles from Byelorussia and brand new bloody Radio SAWA megawatt in Arab from the Persian Gulf making 1170 kHz a real mess...
Other frequencies on FM: 97,70 MHz + 103,10 MHz + 103,60 MHz. Best in Rimini is 103,10 MHz. The personal EMail address to contact Miro Dellore is : vladimiro.dellore@rtvslo.si he is very much pleased to get suggestions from listeners.

We have been very much pleased to have seen Radio Capodistria, but due to the economic situation no gadgets or souvenirs, even if the friendly Miro assured he should have done his best to find some items to mail them to our address. Unfortunatly also the book of the 50 years anniversary is yet out of stock. We wished all the best to the Italian voice of Istria and we moved to our final visit in Koper by Taxi to Radio CAPRIS the original name of the first seattlement in the Romanic eve ... Capris mind the hill of the Caprini animals!!!!!!!!!! The station is not far from our Hotel street: ULICA (VIALE) 15 MAJA 10/b al 2* Floor (Floor in Slovenian NADSTROPJE)...Mr. JAKA the program manager (speaking in Italian) was waiting for us (we were about 1 hour later respect the planned time) We had a visit to the modern studios and we got the old logo stickers 87.90 MHz. Jaka said new stickers will be printed soon with new logo "a sun with musical".
The station operates 87,90 MHz + 105,10 MHz & new frequency 91,70 MHz (from mid march 2006) which substitute 99,70 MHz (changed cause interferences from Radio 105 on 99,60 MHz from Trieste area) The 91,70 MHz has blow up a hard discussion with an Italian station based in Gorizia , named Radio Gorizia 1 , originally on 103,50 & 103,80 MHz , they sold 103,50 MHz in 2005 to Radio RDS and wanted to open 91,70 Mhz... for the province of Gorizia.... The choose of 91,70 MHz by Radio Capris has been a decision of the Broadcasting Authority of Slovenia ... not a personal decision of Radio Capris. However need to say the Broadcasting Authority of Slovenia has choosen 91,70 MHz cause probably they did not controlled the 91,70 MHz frequency....almost free till 2005 ...before the decision to open on this channel a TX by Radio Gorizia 1.... according to my monitoring in the train in Monfalcone (Gorizia) Radio Capris on 91,70 MHz is coming very well.... so the problem is true... but not easy to solve it ...cause 91,60 MHz and 91,80 MHz are yet utilized by other Italian FM stations....
This visit concluded the Koper radio tour .... we come back to the Hotel Vodisek and I had another internet free session for about 1 hour... till 1415 hours time to go to the rail station to pick up the train to Fiume-Rijeka in Croazia....
In fact the TAXI is yet arrived and I must go.....

Alle 1440 puntuale il treno partiva in orario... il treno era diretto a Lubiana e Maribor, cambiavamo a Pivka con un altro treno proveniente da Lubiana per Fiume, che arrivava dopo 15 minuti in perfetto orario.
Poco prima di arrivare in treno a Fiume in Croazia notavo su 96,40 MHz il programma in Italiano di Radio Pola in onda attualmente alle 1700-1730 ora estiva (1500-1530 UTC)
La stazione di Fiume è nelle stesse condizioni di come la lasciarono un po di anni fa ....gli Italiani.... direi FATISCENTE... fuori poi la sorpresa di trovare UN TAXI solo ... in attesa paziente ... di clienti (infatti il conduttore era addormentato dentro....hi!) Da notare che nella scalcinata stazione FS non c'è un ufficio dei cambi .... ce n'è uno di fronte alla Stazione. Prendevamo il Taxi con il "dormiente" dopo averlo svegliato in modo "Soft"...
In 5 minuti ci depositava davanti all'Hotel Bonavia **** stelle considerato un Albergo di lusso, una camera doppia costa 120 Euro. Fortunatamente ci veniva assegnata una camera al 5°piano, da tale altezza si aveva la vista ottica del golfo di Fiume che somiglia ad un fiordo Norvegese è aperto verso Sud - Sud Est.....e la camera dove eravamo dava proprio in quella direzione... incominciavo il bandscan in FM con il mio fido DEGEN 1103 mentre Roberto andava alla stazione degli autobus per comprare il biglietto Fiume-Trieste per il giorno successivo in compagnia di Christian per poi fare un giro turistico del centro cittadino...che gravita attorno al Korzò principale.

Nonostante le condizioni propagative fossero abbastanza normali l'area Italiana ricevuta è risultata abbastanza ampia, dall'entroterra Marchigiano alla zona del Riminese fino all'entroterra Romagnolo, con una punta nel Bolognese, alcuni ripetitori Veneti. La mancanza di segnali dal Friuli dipendeva dalla posizione di Fiume, coperta da alte colline verso nord ovest.
Alle ore 2100 facevamo la cena al ristorante dell'Hotel, una hall scintillante di luci, 20 tavoli con nessun altro all'infuori di noi..... ordinavo un piatto di tortellini , poi granchiolini sgusciati con patate lesse e maionese, e proseguivo con una coda di rospo al burro salvia...... concludendo con macedonia e un cognac doppio con caffé espresso.... spesa 25 Euro.... anche Roberto e Christian si abbuffavano ....
Dopo l'abbuffata avevo tempo per fare un po di internet offerto dall'albergo.
Ritornavo in camera per ricontrollare la banda FM ...ma i segnali Italiani si erano rarefatti dopo le ore 2330 solo Radio Sabbia sui 101,50 MHz continuava ad arrivare...lasciando spazio a segnali più o meno locali della Croazia.....
Mercoledi 26 Aprile ancora una giornata di sole ..... anche dal punto di vista meteorologico il viaggio era andato benissimo nonostante le previsioni sballate di Yahoo Meteo e The Weather Channel.... facevamo una colazione molto ricca... finalmente di mio gusto.... ed eravamo pronti per iniziare la visita alle emittenti di Fiume.
La prima ad essere visitata Primorski Radio in Barciceva 4/a, HR-51000 Rijeka, WEB : http://www.primorski-radio.hr Frequenze: 96,50 MHz and 104,20 MHz. EMail: karolina@primorski-radio.hr Avevamo un appuntamento preso via email con Miss Karolina Poli'c dell'ufficio Pubblicitario, che ci dava il benvenuto, e ci faceva visitare gli studi computerizzati e molto funzionali e che hanno una vetrata che da sulla strada. L'emittente assicura di essere la più ascoltata a livello musicale nella zona di Fiume, tranne quando l'emittente nazionale ha i notiziari locali al pomeriggio. Eventuali rapporti di ascolto possono essere inoltrati a Mr. Bojan Senkinc in Inglese EMail: program@primorski-radio.hr L'emittente ha festeggiato 10 anni di vita, non ha attualmente adesivi, quelli fatti anni fa sono purtroppo esauriti, in ogni caso ci veniva regalato un ombrello blu/giallo che faceva contento Ghibaudo ed un grande asciugamano da spiaggia blu con logo...che faceva contento me !!! hi!
Proseguivamo con un'altra breve camminata a piedi di 200 metri ed arrivavamo in Trpimirova 2,6 kat (6°piano), HR-51000 Rijeka. La EMail del WRTH 2006 è corretto: svid-radio@hi.hine3t.hr mentre la loro pagina WEB è : http://www.ri-rock.com/svid.htm La loro pagina WEB ufficiale non funziona al momento http://www.svid.hr chissà forse tra qualche settimana ???? hi!!!! L'ingresso era scalcinato, con nessuno, solo nel disastrato studio c'erano 2 persone che comunque non si proccupavano della nostra intrusione.... la porta di ingresso era semi aperta. Indubbiamente una emittente aperta ai suoi ascoltatori e diretta in modo anarcoide tipo in Italia a Radio Black Out per esempio. Alla fine potevamo discorrere un po con i 2 Djs che ci spiegavano che avevano ricevuto il nostro EMail ma dato che non occorrono inviti per visitare l'emittente non avevano ritenuto necessario risponderci. Pertanto se capitate a Fiume andate a trovarli senza appuntamento...hi!!!!.
L'emittente trasmette da 11 anni, il suo nome originale era San Vito Radio.... ma dato che le autorità religiose locali non gradivano l'accostamento al Santo protettore di Fiume da parte di una emittente un po anarcoide e punkoide con programmi di musica Rock Satanica ...... il nome era stato trasformato in SVID RADIO ..... questa la spiegazione dell'attuale nome dell'emittente.
Venivamo poi a sapere qualche informazione sulla nuova emittente di Rijeka che trasmette dal Gennaio 2006 sulla frequenza di 87,60 MHz Radio TRSAT (è il nome di una zona di Fiume verso sud della città, la zona è famosa per un monastero Francescano dove di venera una icona della SS Madonna, l'emittente dovrebbe essere localizzata in Ulica Vodovodna.. ma non conoscendo il numero civico non abbiamo provato a cercarla ... l'ascolto dall'Hotel Bonavia su 87,60 MHz era sufficente... probabilmente non hanno grande potenza???.....Se qualcuno ha informazioni è pregato di contattarmi, grazie.
Ritornavamo verso il centro storico, facendo il Korzò (Corso) che è una isola pedonale ricca di scintillanti negozi per turisti danarosi (non era il nostro caso) e così arrivavamo al palazzo fatto costruire al tempo del Movimento Sociale Italiano da Dannunzio che sovente dall'Abruzzo veniva a Fiume in battello per ....tromb....le bellezze locali ....hi!!!! (maldicenza ???) poi l'edificio era diventata la casa del popolo al tempo di Tito...e quindi Radio Fiume. la sede è in Korzò 24, HR-51000 Rijeka. WEB: http://www.radio-rijeka.com L'edificio esteriormente dimostra la sua veneranda età (oltre 80 anni) e la ricezione al piano terra è a dir poco orripilante... muri scrostati...scale sbrecciate... non ci sono ascensori .... Il programma in Italiano è diffuso alle ore 1715-1759 (ora solare estiva) cioè alle 1515-1559 UTC (con piccole variazioni) sulla frequenza di 104,70 MHz in // con le onde medie di 774 kHz e di 783 kHz. Visitavamo con la gentile Agnese gli studi della Radio Nazionale Croata che trasmette su : 95,10 + 100,30 + 102,70 + 104,70 MHz in // 774 kHz + 783 kHz con programmi locali di giorno ed in // con 1125 kHz, 1134 kHz in altri orari. Di sera e di notte viene pure ripetuto il servizio estero in varie lingue ....ma non in Italiano (purtroppo)... pertanto ascoltare il programma in Italiano di Radio Fiume non è molto facile...
Dopo aver visto i vari studi di registrazione e dei programmi locali in lingua Croata, per inviare rapporti di ascolto si può usare la EMail generale: radiori@ri.tel.hr Dopo aver fatto varie foto, arrivavamo al secondo piano dove si trovano gli uffici della redazione Italiana, facevamo così la conoscenza del redattore capo Franco Rocchi e di Virna Baraba una gionalista (EMail: vbaraba@yahoo.it ) qui ci intrattenivamo a parlare della storia della emittente e del suo futuro importante per la comunità Italiana che ancora vive in Istria. Io provvedevo a distribuire un po di adesivi dei networks Italiani .... ed in effetti in FM sono molto conosciuti anche da Agnese che abitando in collina mi confermava di avere in estate ottime ricezioni dalla costa Italiana che è proprio di fronte. Ci venivano dati gli adesivi di Radio Rijeka, un block notes, il calendarietto 2006, ringraziavamo e salutavamo gli amici della redazione Italiana.
In 5 minuti tornavamo all'Hotel Bonavia che si trova a 150 metri, dalla camera al 5 piano si può vedere pure la parte superiore dell'edificio di Radio Rijeka ed i vari links.... ma miracolosamente non c'era la RF rumorosa in FM riscontrata altrove durante il nostro viaggio. Avevo modo di fare un rapido bandscan in FM .... Radio Sabbia di Riccione su 101,50 MHz e 100,80 MHz arrivava come una emittente locale....
Alle 1145 eravamo alla stazione degli autobus SAF che fanno servizio tra FIUME e TRIESTE e viceversa, linea verde in Italia 800 915303 . Autostazione Trieste (a 100 metri dalla Stazione FS) tel. 0039-040-425020. In 150 minuti arrivate a Trieste... e viceversa. L'autobus fa una fermata ad Abbazia una bella località turistica piena di Hotels e di internet points.
Salutavamo l'amico Francese Christian Ghibaudo che proseguiva in Taxi per la Stazione Ferroviaria di Fiume per prendere il treno diretto per Lubiana dove poi avrebbe preso un aereo per Francoforte con cambio per Nizza...
Il nostro Bus SAF si riempiva ...pertanto sempre meglio soprattutto in estate fare una prenotazione per il ritorno il giorno prima... il viaggio era accompagnato dai programmi di Radio Sabbia che continuava ad arrivare anche in territorio Sloveno...
Trovavamo a Trieste il treno regionale per Mestre che parte alle 1440 ... poi cambio a Mestre con un Cisalpino per Milano.... alle 2000 in perfetto orario il giro era concluso ....
Il nostro primo viaggio del 2006 era terminato.
In luglio, io e Roberto, faremo una visita a Pola di un giorno ....attraversando l'Adriatico con partenza da Rimini.

Our train started from Koper at 1440 hours and we need to change train in Pivka, it cost 10 Euro, at 1530 hours for the train coming from Lubiana and going to Fiume in Croazia. There is 15 minutes wait to change train and the train stop a few minutes, so you must be ....speedy to go up ...hi! not so many travellers going to Croazia.
Just before to arrive in Fiume I heard on FM 96,40 MHz the Italian program of Radio Pula (formely scheduled at 1630-1700 hours 1430-1500 UTC) running now 1500-1530 hours UTC in the spring-summer .... a little change of the time.
The rail station of Fiume is in quite old conditions and outside only 1 Taxi was waiting ... in front of the station there is an exchange money office.
The Hotel Bonavia is **** stars and considered luxury, located in Dolac 4, right in the city center. Price for a double room 120 Euro. We get rooms at 5th floor....this is very important cause this permit a direct view of the gulfsea port and Adriatic sea.. my room in south-south east direction ....the one of Ghibaudo looking at west-north west.
So Roberto and Christian went to do a sightseen of the city center and I stay at room to try FM listenings.
I done the first bandscan in about 2 hours, but here I will list only the Italian stations I get in my DEGEN 1103 receiver equipped with 2 filters FM 53 & 110 kHz, a complete FM bandscan will be edited later on in my web page :

As you may notice reception with normal conditions and weak tropo offered many transmitters located in the Mountains/Hills of Marche and Romagna and a few even from South Bologna area....and of corse some from Veneto, the position of Fiume Rijeka city area is covered by hills to north north west so signals coming from Friuli area almost all blocked....

We stay at Hotel Bonavia to have dinner, the Hotel dining room is luxury and I however may assure we did not pay so much respect the precedents dinners in Slovenia, I eat Granchiolini sgusciati with boiled potatoes , Tortellini Bolognese, and a big fish Coda di Rospo grilled ....all very good and with white wine.
Cost 25 Euro.... After dinner I had some internet session, in the hotel, free access in a good equipped room ....
I controlled later from our room (nice night view of the gulf) the FM band but signal were more weaker apart 101,50 MHz Radio Sabbia .... and RAI 1 + RAI 2 from Monte Nerone (Marche).
Tuesday 26 April after a VERY LARGE breakfast at Hotel Bonavia (it is surely a top class Hotel), we started our visit by a short walk of 200 meters till Street Barciceva 4/a, HR-51000 Rijeka, where is located Primorski Radio. WEB : http://www.primorski-radio.hr We had a meeting with Miss Karolina Poli'c Marketing Manager, she kindly showed us the very modern station, this year is celebrating 10 years of life ! they have studios looking at the street !! and all modern computerized equipments. Frequencies 96,50 MHz and 104,20 MHz. EMail contact : karolina@primorski-radio.hr Unfortunatly they have no stickers, but they geave to us an umbrella with logo appreciated by Ghibaudo....and a large blu towel for summer beach time, I appreciated it very much. Reception reports may be sent by email to : program@primorski-radio.hr Mr. Bojan Senkinc. Surely a very friendly station.
Another little walk and we arrived at SVID Radio in Trpimirova 2, 6 kat (6th floor) HR-51000 Rijeka, EMail on WRTH 2006 is correct : svid-radio@hi.hinet.hr At present WEB page is : http://www.ri-rock.com/svid.htm cause the official WEB page doesn't work http://www.svid.hr may be later ???? hi! but it is a radio station managed in a quite anarchist way.... every one is doing what he wants ....so email coming are not answered, the 2 Dj found in the station studios said... we welcome visitors ....no need of pro formal invitation. They operates on 98,40 MHz, and they have connections with Radio 101 in Zagreb. SVID is the way to say SAINT VITO (the patron of Rijeka) ...but 11 years ago the local religious authorithies do not accepted to call a station anarchist Saint Vito .... so the station changed to SVID RADIO ..... quite interesting explication....hi!!!!!
In Rijeka started in January 2006 a new station on 87,60 MHz called Radio TRSAT (this is a proper name of an area famous for a devotional S. Franciscan church to Holy Mary, located to the south of the Rijeka city) the station seems to be located in a street called Vodovodna ... but not been able to find other deails, reception in Rijeka on 87,60 MHz was sufficent... probably low power ???..if you have more informations please contact me.
By walk again we arrived till the historical building of Radio Fiume, built by the Italian during the time all Istria has been an Italian territory, the entrance is not in good conditions, and also the reception downstairs sounds as bit "under the 75 years" Korzò 24, HR-51000 Rijeka. WEB : http://www.radio-rijeka.com The Italian program is scheduled after 1700 hours local time (1400 hours UTC), and it is in // with 774 kHz + 783 kHz. We had an appointment with Mrs. Agnese Superina Redattrice of the Italian Section. Direct contact EMail is : agnesesuperina@hotmail.com The Italian program over Radio Fiume is broadcast at 1515-1559 UTC on 104,70 MHz frequency. We visited the studios of the Croatian National Radio and the Italian Section office, so we met Franco Rocchi Editor in Chief and Virna Baraba (EMail: vbaraba@yahoo.it)... we talked a lot about how is going the Italian service,I geave some Italian Radio Networks stickers and we got some pocket calendars 2006, some stickers of HR Radio Rijeka. Also Pens and block notes. Almost they have still printed some stickers. We also do photo souvenirs and we say hallo !!!
Back to the Hotel Bonavia .... 150 meters from Radio Rijeka (but no RF noted in the room hotel) we had 30 minutes of relax and I listed again to Radio Sabbia Riccione on 101,50 MHz with strong signals.... really a good surprise...
By taxi we went to the Bus station of Rijeka not so far from our Hotel, our BUS Rijeka-Trieste (in Croatian TRST !!) started at 1200 hours...so we said bye bye to Ghibaudo who was going to Rail station for his direct train Rijeka-Lubiana and in Lubiana to pick up the airplane to Frankfurt...
The Bus ride was Ok, lot of people on the Bus all going to Trieste, only a stop in Abbazia, a turistic place on the coast... still listening to Radio Sabbia on 101,50 MHz and even on 100,80 MHz !!!! No problem to pass the controll border with Croazia-Slovenia and Slovenia-Italy... we arrived at bus station in Trieste with 10 minutes of laterness due to the traffic jam .... but in time to pick up the train Trieste-Venezia at 1440 hours... cost 8 Euro... more costing the following train Mestre-Milano cause a Cisalpino going to Switzerland via Milano costing 40 Euro.
But in perfect time we arrived in Milano around 2000 hours.... so just 8 hours travel from Rijeka to Milano.

This conclude our first travel of 2006....
in July we plan one day visit to Pola in Croazia crossing the Adriatic sea from Rimini....
