By: Sheogorath https://communia-association.org/2014/08/06/did-spain-just-declare-war-on-the-commons/#comment-39620 Fri, 15 Aug 2014 05:23:18 +0000 http://communia-association.org/?p=1123#comment-39620 According to the googling I’ve been doing, Spanish authors’ moral rights include the right to insist on the respect of the integrity of the work and to prevent any distortion, modification, alteration, or derogatory action in relation to the work which would be prejudicial to his/her legitimate interests or reputation. It seems to me as if this new legislation would force authors to waive the above right, something which is impossible under Spanish law. Either the new law will have to go, or Spain will have to rewrite a lot of older laws, maybe even leave the Berne Convention altogether.
